Trump is Losing Many of His Rich Friends

Philip Kotler

Trump’s current behavior is best described as “reducing programs that average Americans need and love in order to provide the rich with lower taxes.”

Trump aims to shut down public properties, particularly National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting System (PBS). He and Musk aim to eliminate or greatly reduce Social Security and Medicaid. Trump is cutting staff at our national parks and losing customers. Trump is cutting the budget for attracting more visitors to the U.S. Canadian visitors to the U.S. fell 75% this year from last year’s numbers.

In cutting programs that the American public needs and enjoys, Trump’s mid-term votes for the Republican Party are likely to drop. Trump must be aware of this. But he is not worrying. He is scheming to suppress Democratic voters before the midterm election. He is demanding that all voters show their American birth certificate or passport before they can cast a vote. Many lower income Americans are Democrats and many don’t have these documents handy.

Trump has created a bad opinion of America among all our former allies. Americans going abroad are uncomfortable about being constantly asked “what is happening to America?”

There is no doubt that when American historians look back at the Trump years, many will describe Donald Trump as the worst U.S. President to ever occupy the White House.

Many rich Americans are losing their respect for Donald Trump. His lies and greed and his many disruptions bother them. Trump has destroyed the real Republican Party and replaced it with Trump’s Maga party. There is danger that Trump’s cancellation of popular public programs will get more American citizens who want to rebel. As inflation continues to worsen, as jobs continue to tumble, as American popular programs evaporate, rich Americans realize that these steps might incite rebellion. An increasing number of billionaires are now building bunkers to protect themselves against running out of food, water and medicines and are choosing to hide somewhere for safety.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait three more years. As consumers experience increased inflation and hunger, as companies’ sales and profits suffer, decomittment will pour in from company owners, managers, workers, unions, GOP members, MAGA members, and everyday citizens.

Let’s go back to impeaching Trump for all the crimes he has committed.
