How to Save the America We Love
Philip Kotler
Never before in American history has one U.S. President created so much destruction and human misery.
.Makes illegal moves against the U.S. Constitution
.Cuts aid to science that would otherwise save huge numbers of American lives
.Attacks American colleges and demands payments
.Destroys public treasures such as our national park system
.Cuts funding to our national health system
This President chooses a Cabinet of incompetents to run the nation’s operations largely based on their absolute loyalty to the President.
This U.S. President still has three years left to further damage American society and democracy.
Let us imagine events and actions that might challenge the President’s agenda and make America respect the Constitution again.
1. The Supreme Court senses the damage to the Constitution and rescinds the President’s total immunity.
2. The Republican Party senses the damage to the GOP’s image and enough Republican leaders agree with the Democrats to impeach this President.
3. The Democratic Party finds a new leader (such as Mark Kelly) and wins strong elections in different states to become the major party in the House.
4. The CEOs running major companies find it harder to grow sales and profits because of the President’s arbitrary tariff policy swings and the loss of Allies caused by the President’s “America First” policy.
5. The American public turns against this President in learning that he paid very little income tax, that his wealth has substantially increased during this period by taking advantage of his office and that he is busy making war plans to distract the public from his failures.
6. American public opinion turns against this President because living costs continue to rise and workers are losing jobs and graduating college students can’t find jobs.
7. American consumers slow down their purchases and organize country wide protests against this President calling for his resignation.
8. The President’s creates an unnecessary war, suffers defeat, and the public agrees that it has had enough of this President.
What Steps Can be Taken to Restore America as the Leading Democracy in the World?
What can the new government leaders do to restore our former liberties and humane practices?
1. Restore the stability in the U.S. economy so businesses can plan for the future.
2. Reject “America First” and give our former allies such as Canada, Mexico, Denmark, etc. our deepest regrets and we work to restore our former mutually supportive relationships.
3. Develop a new immigration policy.
4. The U.S. restores its membership and support of leading international organizations including the United Nations which is almost bankrupt from the nonpayment of U.S.dues, return support to the Paris agreement on climate change, etc.
5. The U.S. restores the Education Department and considers returning the money that the former President extracted from universities.
6. The U.S. restores the humanity of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). The U.S. must recapture its position as the major democracy in the world and serve as a “living” contrast to authoritarian and despotic countries such as China and Russia.
7. The U.S. must reject White Nationalsim, ICE policies, arbitrary tariffs, and imperial moves to take over other countries.
8. Keep the independence of the Federal Reserve and the independence of the Department of Justice.
The main need in this restorative work is to establish laws and guardrails that will never enable a future U.S. President to proceed with such destructive agenda. Pass legislation that respects the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the government.
