Donald Trump is pressuring the National Football League to name its new stadium for the Washington Commanders as the Trump Stadium. Does this matter to you or me?
Yes. It matters to me because I don’t want to be reminded every time, I go to that Stadium how much harm Trump has done to America.
It matters to you because no institution remains safe from a would-be dictator who wants to put his name everywhere. Wherever you find a dictator, you will find his picture on every wall.
So far, U.S. President Donald Trump has thrust his name in several places:
· He suggested that the new White House ballroom be named “The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom.”
· He proposed renaming the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts the Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts. He also proposed parts of the Opera House be named the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.”
· A stretch of road in Palm Beach County was unanimously approved to be ceremonially renamed “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard.”
· Back in 2005, Trump launched the Trump University to teach real estate. The New York State Education Department ordered it to stop calling itself a university, causing it to be renamed Trump Entrepreneur Initiative. It ceased operations entirely amid mounting complaints and legal scrutiny.
· Trump pressured the Nobel Prize people to award him the Peace Prize.
· Trump’s people hope that his face could be added at Mount Rushmore next to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
Trump has suggested changing well-known names to other names that he preferred.
· Trump tried to rename the body of water known as the “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America.”
· Trump signed orders to rename the mountain Denali (Alaska) back to “Mount McKinley.”
What Might the Democrats Do When They Get Back Their Power
There is little question that half of all Americans despise or dislike Donald Trump. Many regard Trump as the worst of all American presidents. Many want to reduce the use of Trump’s name.
One step is to restore the original names that Trump had replaced with his name. For example, Democrats would replace the Trump Center name with its original name, the Kennedy Center.
A more serious move would be to develop a permanent list of all the terrible things that Trump did as President. This list would be presented to every newly elected American president at inauguration time as a warning about “misleadership”. The list would be highlighted in educational programs discussing Presidential abuses.

In the future, the name “Donald Trump” will refer to a person and a period when an evil corrupt man came to power in the U.S. and polluted everything. He unilaterally decided to destroy the East End of the White House, shift around the locations of pictures of Past Presidents in the White House, and load the White House with gold and silver objects to suggest the power of Kings. His ambition was to be admired and feared.
Hopefully Donald Trump will be remembered more as a tyrant similar to the Roman Emperor Nero had the audacity to play his fiddle while Rome burned.
